The Breton marshes of the Vend\u00e9e region are rich in biological diversity. With its 45,000 hectares of wet meadows and polders, criss-crossed by canals and drained by \u00e9tiers, this ancient gulf is a veritable jewel. Thanks to its micro-environments, it boasts rare flora and fauna, as well as a wide variety of migratory birds, including redshanks and avocets. The marsh is regulated by freshwater hydraulic systems, according to the rhythm of the seasons and the tides. It has preserved its environment, traditions and deep-rooted history.<\/p>

The \u00c9comus\u00e9e du Marais Breton Vend\u00e9en invites you to discover this natural environment in a coastal zone, through a unique walk between nature and heritage, in the heart of the largest open-air museum in the West. In the open air, at the turn of a path, you’ll discover an environment rich in both flora and fauna. Housed in traditional buildings, the eco-museum features exhibitions on the environment and folk arts and traditions. In a friendly atmosphere, we’ll share with you the life of the marsh people and invite you to explore an exceptionally rich natural environment. Along the way, you’ll find a working salt marsh (June to September), a farm and its animals, a vegetable garden and an ornithological observatory. A fun trail is also available for children aged 4 to 11.<\/p><\/div><\/div>
